Campsite Correspondent Crystal Muzik

When we came up with the idea of Campsite Correspondents, we certainly couldn’t have guessed we would receive the interesting and diverse group of applicants we did!  We literally had people reaching out from all over the world!  It’s been super fun sifting through the applicants, and making our selections. Mountain-sized thank you’s to all who applied, and tagged friends to apply.  We look forward to the future applicants we will receive! Stay tuned for all the upcoming intros to our Campsite Correspondents!  We’ve got a great crew of outdoor-lovin’, hiking boot-wearin’, tent-sleepin’ peeps who have stories to share!

Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystal Muzik.  One of the (many) interesting things we loved about Crystal, is that she will do anything to achieve her dream outdoor lifestyle.  She’s been known to have spent half the year at a time living in a storage shed, on a tight budget to do so!  We love those that follow their dreams, and are stoked to have Crystal ’round our fire!

Crystal is a Moab, Utah based seasonal Park Ranger who spends most of her time wandering the wilderness, adventuring into new territory constantly, and reading books under headlamps.

Backpacking the Teton Crest Trail at Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming was her highlight this year. She lives out of a storage unit for half the year at times and lives on a budget to achieve the “dream lifestyle.”

She grew up in the flat fields of corn and bean in Illinois, but managed to live out West in seven different states in the past ten years. She has stories of watching Grizzly Bears trying to catch Salmon in Alaska to camping on a deserted island with seven strangers volunteering to study mangrove forest.

Solo woman budget travels include: kayaking in Baja, rock climbing in Thailand, ferry boats through New Zealand, attempting surfing in Australia, hiking up volcanoes in Ecuador, and making chocolate with the locals in Peru.

Welcome to the Campsite Crystal!  We look forward to adventuring with you!
