Many of you know that for about a year and a half, I was working on a time lapse film with Doug Urquhart of The upThink Lab and Paul Zizka Photography called Mountains in Motion: The Canadian Rockies. I had the pleasure of, among other things, writing the script for our narrator. With the bulk of our team in Atlanta, Georgia, and the rest in Banff, Alberta, the Mountains in Motion team faced the added challenge of putting together a film over email, Skype and phone (even patching me in to the studio in Atlanta by phone when we were recording the script).
The ultimate goal for the film was to have it screened at the Banff Mountain Film Festival, the largest festival of its kind in the world and an annual pilgrimage of adventurers, artists and mountain enthusiasts. This past month we found out that it would, in fact, be screened in Banff and our team is excited to reunite in early November to watch the film alongside our home crowd in The Rockies.
Mountains in Motion has already won two awards at other screenings, including Best Documentary at the Atlanta Shortsfest and Best Cinematography at the DiXiE Film Festival in Athens, Georgia. Join us on Facebook for updates and be sure to check into the film festival schedule to see when it will be showing in Banff.
I hope you can catch it on a screen near you!

Did I congratulate you on this? If not way to go! I’m just finishing up this week at Adventure Film and I’m having a hard time recalling which trailers I’ve seen and those I haven’t. I really look forward to see the full film in Banff! Take care
James
